What is wool  ?

Wool is a natural fiber of animal origin used since Antiquity to make clothes. At Petit Bateau, only one wool is used: that of sheep's wool!

A winter favorite, wool is a material that breathes while warming us up. Known to protect us against the cold, wool also acts as a moisture barrier. Wool yarn can absorb up to a third of its weight in water without becoming wet to the touch and without losing its insulating power!

How is it knitted ?

In our french factories and partners! We use traditional circular knitting machines to manufacture our famous wool & cotton bodysuits and T-shirts. At Petit Bateau, wool is often mixed with cotton, notably to make jumpers but also for cardigans.

Some care tips from our quality department

To preserve the quality of your wool garment, we recommend using a special wool detergent. For information, powder detergents often contain a bleaching agent that may alter the color.

We recommend washing most of your clothes containing wool with a 30°C wool program or a gentler program, even cold if it is not very dirty. It is preferable to wash and iron your woolen clothes inside out if ironing is recommended.

Because each garment is different, take the time to read the care symbols as well as the washing instructions mentioned on the label inside your garment.
