This incredibly warm Petit Bateau duffel coat is an essential item for a preppy look.

  • It is made of wool broadcloth and lined with faux sheepskin fleece on the body and the hood.
  • Note the neat finish and the practical features on this coat, with its flap pockets and double zip fastening. The sleeves are lined with nylon so the coat is easier to slip into, and there is an embroidered badge on the sleeves as well.
  • This is the heavy wool duffel coat all boys need for winter.

A brand, a story

Where does the name come from? It's nothing to do with hosiery, Pierre Valton's original job when he founded the company in 1893. It's all down to his son Etienne, who invented underpants in 1918 and was inspired by the French nursery rhyme "Maman les p'tits bateaux" that his wife would sing to their children. And so the brand and the nursery rhyme became inextricably linked!
